About Scotland Memorial Foundation's FUNd Run

Join us for the 21st Annual FUNd Run, presented by Service Thread, and support Scotland Memorial Foundation’s work to improve health and wellness in the communities it serves! Not only will you be doing something good for your own health, but you’ll help raise critical resources to benefit patients and families.
This includes providing assistance for:
The Diabetes Education Fund at Scotland Health Care System &
Scotland Cancer Treatment Center’s Patient Support Fund
Registration:
5K - $40 ($35 early bird special until April 1st)
5K (College Student) - $25 ($20 early bird special until April 1st)
1 Mile Walk - $20 ($15 early bird special until April 1st)
5K or 1 Mile (K-12 Students Only) - $15
Note: T-shirt guaranteed if registered by April 18, 2026.

(K-12) Student Challenge

 

Public and Private schools (K-12) in Scotland, Robeson, and Marlboro counties can join in the fun on April 25th. The schools with the most student participation will win a grant from The Foundation to use toward health and wellness at their school. Registration is $15.00 for the 1 Mile or 5K.

 

First place will receive $1,000,

Second place $750, and

Third place $500

 

Winners will be determined by the percentage of students participating in comparison to enrollment.

FAQS

 

1. DO I HAVE TO REGISTER FOR THE CANCER SURVIVOR CELEBRATION? 

Registration is not required.  You will just need to check in at the Survivor VIP tent the day of the event.

 

2.  I'M A SURVIVOR.  CAN MY FAMILY COME?

Yes! While the purpose of this event is the celebrate you, we encourage anyone in the community to come out to support those who have triumphed over cancer. There will be many free & fun activities during FUNd Fest for everyone to enjoy.  However, access to the Survivor Tent is only available to the survivor and one guest.

 

3. WHAT FOOD WILL BE AVAILABLE?

In the Survivor VIP tent, survivors & one guest will receive a ticket to redeem at the food truck of their choice for a complimentary meal.  List of Food Trucks coming soon.

 

4.  WHERE IS PARKING LOCATED?

Parking is available at the Alexander-Reid Furniture Store (the old Badcock Furniture Store). Shuttle service to McDuffie Square will be provided by Scotia Village.

Yes, packet pickup will be available the morning of the race from 7:00 AM-8:15 AM.

 

Can I register on-site?

Yes, on-site registration will be available from 7:00 AM-8:15 AM, but a shirt and goody bag is not guaranteed.

Do you have a loved one you would like to honor or remember with a Spirit Marker?

You can recognize someone for their fight against cancer, diabetes, and other chronic illness or honor a person or group that is important to you. Purchase a Spirit Marker for $100 and help line the 1-Mile Spirit Walk with names and pictures of special friends, family members, and neighbors.

Following the race, Spirit Markers will be on display in front of Scotland Memorial Hospital for a week.
