About St. Mary's Steps for Hope 5K Run/Walk and Kids Obstacle Course
On October 11 St. Mary’s and Bates College are teaming up for a 5K Run/Walk and Kids Obstacle Course. The event is aptly named Steps for Hope. Our collective goal is to raise funds to expand the spaces available for behavioral health hospitalization and bring awareness to the mental health crises affecting our youth and adults from our community and every corner of Maine.
2023 Harvest Walk Route
The Harvest Walk starts and ends at Simard-Payne Memorial Park in Lewiston. Participants will be grouped and will depart in 5-minute intervals beginning at 10:00 a.m. Volunteers and signs will mark the route.

5K Run/Walk Age Brackets
Each age group is also broken down into three gender groups: Female, Male, and Transgender/Non-Binary. There will not be an overall award this year.

Food insecurity is closer to home than you think. The Nutrition Center works daily to provide healthy food to those in need.

2022 Stats at a glance:

A total of 8,221 visits/bags provided through the Food Pantry’s on-site service and 3089 bags delivered.

Average of 1260 people served monthly.

There were a total of 707 new households registered in 2022

Over 350,000 pounds of food distributed

Supported newly arrived asylum seekers who were placed in a motel on the outskirts of Auburn. Provided hot, culturally preferred meals when they first arrived and then supported transportation and additional food support. For the 20 households, we provided over 440 distributions in their first three months upon arrival.
