About Step Up to 5k
Join us for the 3rd Annual Step Up to 5k, taking place on Sunday September 14, 2025 at Heritage Park in Frankenmuth, MI.
Step Up to 5K is an inclusive, fun-filled 5K run/walk/roll hosted by Bremer Prosthetics. We bring together individuals of all abilities—whether seasoned runners, people with prosthetics, families, or first-time participants—for a supportive and uplifting community experience.
Our mission is to inspire confidence, celebrate movement, and promote access to mobility for all. We want to bring awareness and advocacy for prosthetics and orthotics access, promoting the idea that movement is medicine and physical activity is a right. Proceeds from the event support So Every Body Can Move, a national initiative advocating for state-by-state legislative change for fair insurance coverage of prosthetic and orthotic care. We believe mobility is a human right, and this event is one step toward making that right a reality for everyone.
We are proud to offer discounted registration for amputees and individuals with limb differences who are on a journey toward a more active lifestyle. This initiative is made possible through the generous support of Bremer Prosthetics, whose sponsorship allows us to direct more funds to So Every Body Can Move, a movement dedicated to improving access to prosthetic care and active living for all.

Tips for Fundraising
Tips for Fundraising
The Golden Rule of Fundraising is: Just Ask! Ask family, friends, and community members with whom you interact on a regular basis. Consider creating a flier for your team to hand out when you are out and about. You will be pleasantly surprised how willing most people are to contribute!
Build a Team
You can't do it alone--ask friends, family members, and colleagues to join your team! Each team member will get an individual page that links to the team. Set a goal together, inspire some friendly competition, and build toward your goal.
Tell Your Story
Personalize your fundraising page by adding a photo, sharing your story, setting your goal, and making a donation. Help your donors understand why Step Up to 5k and So Every Body Can Move is so important to you.
Ask for Support
Remember, the best way to raise money is to ASK! Write letters, send emails, and reach out by phone or text. Share your link on Facebook and in email signatures. You can also connect your fundraising page and your personal Facebook page, creating a Facebook fundraiser to make donations quick and easy.
Follow Up
Remind your network--ask more than once! Everyone does it--you see the email or Facebook post, tell yourself you will respond later, and keep scrolling. You forget to come back to it. It can take multiple asks before you catch them at the right time, so keep following up. Silence is not a "no." And be sure to thank them when they do donate!
Share Your Success
Keep track of your donations and keep sharing progress toward your goal. It can help motivate others to give and show your donors their impact on your goal.
