Every year, Phoenixville, PA celebrates Blobfest in honor of 1958's The BLOB. And every year, we throw a running party to help celebrate and support the historic Colonial Theatre that stars in the film! Join us as we start and finish right in front of the Colonial Theatre for our 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Kids Fun Run!
Not a runner? Get a group of friends together to participate in our course decoration contest and you could win gift cards to our local Phoenixville restaurants. Here's how it works: Your group will be given an area on the 5K course to decorate in some Blob (or other monster/alien) theme. The only rule is that you don't obstruct or startle our runners. After the race, runners will vote for the best scenes and the winners will receive gift cards!
Parking: Free off-site parking will be available at Phoenixville Middle School (1000 Purple Pride Parkway). A free shuttle bus will run from 6:00 am to 11:00 am. 5K and 10K runners are encouraged to park at the middle school. Half marathon runners should park at the middle school only if they have picked up their bibs the day before (since the half marathon starts at 7 am). GPS LINK TO LOT
Paid Parking Near the Start/Finish: See the parking map at the bottom of our registration page HERE. Every year it seems like there is less and less parking in Phoenixville (and now most spaces cost $$ on Sundays), so we STRONGLY ENCOURAGE CARPOOLING (or walking to the start if you live close by). There are four municipal lots near the starting area. One is accessible by the driveway between the Municipal building and the Foodery (325 Bridge Street). The other is on the corner of Taylor Alley and South Main Street. There is also parking at the Borough Hall lot (351 Bridge Street) and the Smithworks parking lot (30 N. Main St.). When you park at Smithworks, it's a very short walk over the bridge by the Foundry to get up to Bridge Street.
Finisher's Medal: Every finisher in the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon will receive an incredible Blob-themed finisher's medal!
Flexible Options: If you register for the half marathon but the day comes and it is very hot (or for any reason), you can drop down to the 10K or 5K. Just tell our timer at the starting line.
Bib Pickup: There are 2 options for packet pickup this year.
SATURDAY 7/11 11am to 5 pm @ the RUNegades table at the Blobfest Street Fair on Bridge Street in Phoenixville.
RACE DAY 7/12 starting @ 6 am.
Pacers: 2026 pace times for the half and 10K will be available as we get closer to the race!
Water stops: We will have lots of water and hydrate at the race, but out of an abundance of caution, half and 10K runners are encouraged to bring their own water.
Half: miles 1, 3.1, 4.7, 6.55, 7.3, 9.2, 11.1, & 11.8
10K: miles 1, 3.1, 4.7
5K: mile 1.8
COURSE CUT-OFF: Due to the July heat, the half marathon cut-off time will be a strict 3:30. Walkers are encouraged to participate in the 5K or 10K.
Steel City Offer: Steel City Coffeehouse and Brewery at 203 Bridge Street in Phoenixville is offering 10% off all purchases for runners who show their bibs after the race!
5K, 10K, and 1/2 marathon awards: The top 3 M/F overall and the top 3 M/F in each of the following age groups will be recognized: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+

Blobfest Run 2025 – Frequently Asked Questions
1. When and where is packet pickup?
Saturday, July 12 at the Blobfest Street Fair, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm in front of the Colonial Theatre on Bridge Street, Phoenixville.
Sunday, July 13 (Race Day) starting at 6:00 am INSIDE the Colonial Theatre.
A friend can pick up your packet—just make sure they have a photo of your ID.
2. Is there a bag drop?
There is no formal bag drop, but runners may leave bags in the vestibule of the Colonial Theatre.
This area is unmanned, and we are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Please do not leave valuables (e.g. wallets, phones, AirPods).
A change of clothes, flip flops, snacks, or power bars are totally fine!
3. Where should I park?
Free Shuttle Parking is available at:

Shuttles run 6:00 am to 11:00 am.
5K and 10K runners are encouraged to park here.

5. Are strollers or dogs allowed?
Strollers are allowed in all races, but they must be jogging strollers for safety.
Dogs are strongly discouraged due to the high number of participants and narrow course areas.
6. How do wave starts work?
All races (except the Kids Run) will start in waves based on expected pace to help manage traffic.
Line up by your pace—your chip time begins when you cross the start line.
7. Can I switch race distances?

8. Are there pacers?
Half Marathon: Pacers every 5 minutes from 1:35 to 2:30 finish times
10K: Pacers every 30 seconds from 8:00 to 11:30 per mile
9. Are there water stops?
Half: Miles 1, 3.1, 4.7, 6.55, 7.3, 9.2, 11.1, 11.8
10K: Miles 1, 3.1, 4.7
5K: Mile 1.8
Given the forecast, 10K and Half runners are encouraged to bring their own water.
10. What is the course surface like?
5K Course: Entirely macadam (paved).
10K and Half Marathon: Approximately 3 miles of crushed hardpack trail; the rest is macadam.
11. What’s the weather forecast?
Expect warm July temps—70°F at 7 am, rising into the 80s by 10 am.
Hydrate well and consider dropping to a shorter distance if needed.

13. Are the trails open to the public?
Yes. The Blobfest Run is held on public trails, including the Schuylkill River Trail.
Please stay to the right, and be respectful of cyclists and other pedestrians using the trail.
Race Day Information
Important shuttle-lot update: Shuttles will pick up runners in front of Phoenixville Middle School. They will arrive roughly every 10 minutes from 6:30 am to 11:30 am.

Important course update: This is our largest Blobfest yet! Managing course flow will be extremely important. In addition to our wave starts, we'd like to remind all runners to please stay to the right as you run on the Schuylkill River Trail.
Important packet pickup reminder: If possible, PLEASE come to the Blobfest street fair tomorrow to pick up your packet. Our tent will be in front of the Colonial Theatre from 11 am to 5 pm. Can't make it? Your friend can pick up your packet with just a picture of your photo ID. If you plan to pick up your bib Sunday morning at the start/finish area under the Gay Street Bridge, please come early. (Pickup opens at 6 am).

2. Packet Pickup will be available at the Blobfest Street Fair on Bridge Street in Phoenixville on Saturday from noon to 5 pm. Our tent will be right next to the Colonial Theatre! Yes, you can also pick up your packet on Sunday before the race near the start/finish under the Gay Street Bridge starting at 6 am, but you really don't want to miss the Blobfest Street Fair!
3. Temperatures look like they will be on the July-side (70 degrees at 7 am, 80 degrees by 10). Anyone who wants to drop down to a shorter race may do so by emailing us at info@runegades.com. If you decide the morning of the race, be sure to tell the race timer in the blue tent before you begin running.
Also, we will have lots of water and UCAN hydrate at the race, but out of an abundance of caution, half and 10K runners are encouraged to bring their own water.
4. Wave starts will be used for each run (except the Kids Run). You will be asked to line up by your expected pace and sent off in waves in order to keep the traffic flow manageable on the course. The race is chip timed, so your time will not start until you cross the starting line.
