The Bill Bone Tropical Triathlon

The 28th Annual Bill Bone Tropical Triathlon is a USAT Sanctioned sprint triathlon/duathlon/aquabike race that will take place on October 18, 2025.  the event consists of a .25 mile swim (or a one mile run for duathlon), a 13 mile bike and a 5k run (no run for aquabike) on the most beautiful course in Palm Beach County. Race route includes spectacular ocean vistas, a bike course that includes a bridge challenge along with a fun downtown loop in the fast 13 mile course. Finish with a run that includes a view of the Snook Island preserve and an Intracoastal path as you sail through Bryant Park and Historic neighborhoods. 

SWIM COURSE

BIKE COURSE (2 laps) - Turn by turn:  Exit Lake Worh Beach Park and head west on Lucerne Ave., make a right turn on Federal Highway and head north to 19th Avenue north where you will make a u-turn and head back south on Federal Highway, make a right turn on Lucerne Avenue and head west to J Street, make a left on J Street and head south one block to Lake Avenue, make a left on Lake Avenue and head east to Federal Highway, make a right on Federal Highway and head south to the u-turn at 11th Avenue South.  Once you u-turn, head back north on Federal Highway.  At the intersection of Federal Highway and Lake Avenue there will be a huge LAP/FINISH sign in the middle of the road.  The first time you see this sign, you continue straight (north) on Federal Highway for a second lap. The second lap is same as the first.  The second time you see the LAP/FINISH sign, you make a right on Lake Avenue and head back east over the bridge to Lake Worth Beach Park.  Please male sure you keep track of the number of laps you have done.  Our staff member at the intersection will not know if you are on your first or second lap.

WEATHER – This is a Rain or Shine event. Every effort will be made to have this event on this date, on time, as planned. A little rain never hurt anybody. However, the safety of our athletes, volunteers, and staff is our number one concern. The Bill Bone Tropical Triathlon reserves the right to change or alter the course as necessary in the name of safety. In the event of severe inclement weather such as lightning, the following procedure will be followed: The event will be postponed for 30-45 minutes in hopes that the inclement weather passes. If the inclement weather does not pass within this time frame, we may decide to alter the event, perhaps to a duathlon format. If conditions are deemed to be unsafe, versus challenging, we may be forced cancel the event. Every situation is different but please understand, this is a rain or shine event and everyone is expected to show up on race day.   

ATHLETE NOTIFICATION – If there is impending inclement weather (i.e. hurricane), we will make periodic updates on our Facebook page. It is not necessary to have a Facebook account, you can go to @TropTri and view the Facebook feed. If for any reason it becomes necessary to cancel the event, we will do so as early as possible and notify all registered participants via email.

Parking at Lake Worth Beach is Pay by Plate and costs $3/hour. Please download the Parking ap and be sure to visit the Parking meters race morning.
