About The Embodied Practice - Fall Session II
Two ways to explore the same practice: Both Gentle and Flow will share the same theme, breath practice, and physiological focus—but will explore them with different pacing and levels of activation.
GENTLE | Softening Into Support | 5–6:15 p.m. Thursdays
Fewer postures, slower transitions, and no repeated chaturanga/cardio sequence create more spaciousness to sense, explore mobility, build strength, and notice the subtleties of our experience. Gentle doesn't mean no challenge. We'll still play (emphasis on play!) with engagement, balance, and progression—because nervous-system flexibility isn't about avoiding activation. Instead, we’ll explore what can soften when we know we are supported—and how much effort is actually enough for this moment.
FLOW | Responsive Strength | 6:30–7:45 p.m. Thursdays
Flow brings more movement, transitions, cardiovascular engagement, and progressive builds—with opportunities to explore strength, balance, more complex expressions of poses, and the option of a peak pose (or two!). But the invitation is never simply to achieve the "advanced" pose. This series, we’ll explore strength without unnecessary rigidity: Can I meet challenge, respond to what my body is telling me, and use enough effort without automatically reaching for more?
and end-of-the-series hot towel ritual (now more often with our slightly shorter series!).
