The Frosty 5K

The Frosty 5K is set for Saturday, December 19, 2026.  Starting and finishing at Twin Lakes Park, 6700 Clark Rd, Sarasota, through the adjacent neighborhood.  A great, wide-open, well supported road course, no grass or paths, all asphalt surfaces for a smooth & fast race.

Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome for this Frosty good time.  Race Perks Include:

If you can't join us in-person, you can register for the Virtual Frosty 5K and still get your Frosty on virtually anywhere!  And do it any time between December 9th and December 31st to submit your own Virtual Frosty 5K results online.  Your Virtual Frosty 5K race packet will be mailed the week after the live event.

Race morning schedule: 

Packet Pick-Up:  6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.

Race Start:  8:00 a.m. 

Post-Race Celebration: First Finisher until 10:00 a.m.

Frosty Runners and Walkers loved the course revision for 2018 so this is the course we kept!  Start and finish at the same spot, northeast end of Twin Lakes Park on the park road adjacent to the soccer fields.  No grass.  No tree roots.  Entirely on the park's and neighborhood's prepared roads.  

Take a look at the Course Map. Highlights:

• You'll leave the park at the Ibis Ave entrance/exit and come back in the same way. 
• The course is on the same roads through the neighborhoods and we've added a dogleg with a u-turn just after midway.  
• Aid station at 1 3/4 miles
• The fast 5% will be on heading in the opposite direction along the same road with about a quarter of the field of runners for about 1/2 mile.  Our volunteers will remind you to stay to the right so everyone can run their best race

The Frosty 5K is chip-timed and participants can opt-in to receive their own finish time and preliminary results to their phone or email as selected during registration.  (Please allow a few minutes after you finish for the results to be "pushed" from the finish line equipment, bounced around cell towers, arriving to RunSignUp then back to your device.)  Results will be available on RunSignUp and we will post the QR code link to view and search results online at locations around the post-race in addition to posting printed results on-site.  Please check to see that your finish and results were recorded and are correct before the Awards Ceremony.  

Awards will be presented at the post-race (plus a costume contest!) but if you cannot stay for the awards, they will be available for pick up at Gulf Breeze Apparel in Venice during their normal business hours after the Frosty 5K.

As of October 1st, 2023, Sarasota Co. Parks & Beaches-including Twin Lakes Park, are NON-SMOKING. 

Twin Lakes Park is 1/2 mile east of I-75 on Clark Road (6700 Clark Rd, Sarasota, I-75 use exit 205)  USE CAUTION driving to the Park!  Construction is still ongoing on I-75 and the Clark Rd exits with new traffic patterns.  Southbound I-75 is a new, very long exit only lane completed but still lots of barrels.  Northbound they haven't finished the exit ramp yet so there is a temporary exit that can sneak up on you among all the barrels blocking what will eventually be the exit ramp.  

Lots of easy, free parking available at Twin Lakes Park.  

Enter Twin Lakes via the main entrance off Clark Road into Twin Lakes Park and paved, lined parking areas are to the right or more parking in the large grass areas beyond the intersection between the baseball fields.

OR proceed another 0.2 miles on Clark Road to Ibis Street at the traffic light. Turn right on Ibis Street, 0.3 miles, turn right into Twin Lakes Park and plenty of parking is available in the grass areas between the baseball fields.  

Use caution when arriving and walking around the park.  Swales and low lying areas frequently contain standing water.  We recommend you stay on the designated roads, sidewalks and footpaths.  Please avoid walking on the soccer field between the pavilion and the start/finish area.

Your registration includes a super spiffy, locally printed & designed, custom race shirt in gender specific sizes.  This year, the shirt is a buttery soft long sleeve poly, and think "Ugly Christmas Sweater", but there is NOTHING U-G-L-Y about this design!!

Custom finisher medal for all participants, of course!! 

And the traditional Frosty 5K porcelain ornament awards for our award winners!  

NO PAPER REQUIRED, just know your name! We will check you in and grab your race packet by your name or if you know your bib number from your confirmation email or the Race Info email sent about a week before the race with your bib number, the QR code, along with other race reminders.  Didn't see a reminder email so concerned you may not be registered?  Check your Junk/Spam folder. Or, look up your registration in the "Participant Tracking" on the RunSignUp Frosty 5K Registration Lookup page to confirm you are registered.  

To have another individual pick up your Participant Packet or to pick up the race packet for someone else-NO PAPER REQUIRED!  Just be sure everyone knows who is getting whose race packet!
