🌉 The Journey

The Lake Cumberland Half is a 13.1-mile point-to-point race benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Pulaski County, Kentucky.

You’ll start on the Houseboat Capital of the World Bridge in Bronston…
cross over beautiful Lake Cumberland…
run through Burnside and Ferguson…

…and finish strong in Somerset at Somerset Community College.

The 10K begins on Jacksboro Street in Ferguson and follows the half marathon route all the way to the same finish line.

Every mile you run helps build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

Start Line: Bronston, KY – Hwy 90 Bridge
Start Time: 7:30 AM

10K
Start Line: Jacksboro St., Ferguson
Start Time: 8:30 AM

Finish Line (Both Races):
Somerset Community College
808 Monticello St, Somerset, KY

Parking available at SCC (Meece Lot)
Transportation provided to both start lines

The room block typically opens closer to race day, and we’ll send an email with booking details as soon as it becomes available so you can lock in your stay.

Half Marathon participants receive a performance race shirt and a 5” finisher medal
10K participants receive a race shirt and a 4” finisher medal

(Shirts and medals guaranteed through registration deadline. Limited extras available while supplies last.)

 

⚠️ Race Day Guidelines

• Parking ONLY at Somerset Community College
• NO parking at either start line
• Transportation provided to both race starts

Half Marathon buses: approx. 6:30 AM – 7:00 AM
10K buses: approx. 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM

• No dogs or animals allowed on the course
• This is NOT a closed course. Be mindful of traffic
• Headphones/earbuds are discouraged for safety

• Half Marathon time limit: 3 hours 30 minutes
• Final cutoff for both races: 11:00 AM

A sweeper vehicle will follow the course. If needed, transportation will be provided back to the finish.

To keep the event safe and traffic flowing, there will be rolling cutoffs at aid stations:

Aid Station 1 (~2.5 mi): 8:10 AM
Aid Station 2 (~5.3 mi): 8:55 AM
Aid Station 3 (~8.1 mi): 9:40 AM
Aid Station 4 (~9.8 mi): 10:07 AM
Aid Station 5 (~11.6 mi): 10:36 AM

 

🌧️ Weather Policy

This is a rain-or-shine event.
In the event of lightning, the race may be delayed or canceled for safety.
All registrations are non-refundable.

Information

Post Race Stretching & Rolling

We wanted to reach out and let all of the 1/2 marathon and 10k race participants know that Dr. Josh Harris PT, DPT, owner of Somerset Spine & Performance Physiotherapy will be on site on race day.

Dr. Harris will have a tent set up for anyone who needs assistance with stretching or would like to utilize foam rolling for soft tissue mobilization before or after the race. He will be available for consultation about running injuries, running form, or other orthopedic issues that participants would like to discuss
