About The Memorial 5K
Join the Memorial 5K Foundation to honor our nation and remember the service and sacrifice of those who have died in the line of duty. Participate in the 5th Annual Memorial 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
Our area veterans and active-duty service members will conduct a brief ceremony of remembrance followed by the running of our unique 5K race.
The racecourse, through the Lake Barrington Shores community, has been certified by U.S. Track and Field and will be professionally chip timed. Participants will receive a race tech shirt and beautiful finishers medal as part of their registration. Proceeds from your race registration will benefit the Memorial 5K Foundation, which supports the work of the Veterans of Lake Barrington Shores and the Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation.
Start Time: 8:00 AM. A Ceremony of Remembrance will proceed the Memorial 5K Race Start.

Here are 5 Key Things to Know...
PRE-RACE DAY PACKET PICK UP:
Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the ReMax Properties Northwest Office, 5041 Shoreline Road, Lake Barrington, IL 60010. The office is located in the Market Place Shopping Center, at the corner of Kelsey Road and IL Route 59, in Lake Barrington, IL.
RACE DAY PACKET PICK UP:
Race Day Packet Pick-Up will take place Sunday, May 25, 2025, between 7:00 AM and 7:45 AM on site at the same location (race day location too).
RACE DAY LOCATION:
Race Day is Sunday, May 25, 2025. Our brief ceremony and the start of our 5K begin at 8:00 AM. The Start Line is located in the parking lot of the Market Place Shopping Center - roughly 5041 Shoreline Road, Lake Barrington, IL 60010 (corner of Kelsey Roads and IL Route 59).
CEREMONY & START TIME:
A brief ceremony to honor our fallen heroes and celebrate freedom will kick off our race. Join us at 8:00 AM to be a part of this quick event with the Veterans of Lake Barrington Shores!
PARKING (Come Early!):
There are three parking locations for racers to utilize, but we encourage local participants (residents of the Lake Barrington Shores Community) to walk or carpool to the start line!
Participants can park at the Market Place Parking Lot at the corner of Kelsey Road and IL Route 59 (5031 Shoreline Road, Lake Barrington) and also in the grassy out lot, at the same location.
Overflow parking will be located at North Barrington Elementary School (24175 N. Grandview Dr. North Barrington) and shuttle buses will take racers to the Start Line. North Barrington School is located just North of Miller Road and on the East side of IL Route 59.
