Join the 2026 Sarcoma Stomp!

This year we are Moving Hope Forward Together to raise critical funds for sarcoma research while amplifying awareness for this rare and challenging cancer. Every dollar supports innovative research across North Carolina advancing treatments and improving outcomes for patients locally and globally.

The Sarcoma Stomp is more than a fundraiser—it’s a day of hope and community! Enjoy a 5K Run/3K Walk through South Charlotte, followed by games, face painting, music, team tents, and an afterparty festival with food and drinks from Legion Brewing.

Whether you’re running, walking, fundraising, or cheering, your participation helps make a difference. Together, let’s take steps toward a cure!

WEATHER

The Sarcoma Stomp is held rain or shine. However, safety is always our #1 priority. In the event of any severe weather on April 11th, Go Ahead Event Management will communicate with participants regarding any race delay or cancellation. Please make sure your registration includes a valid email address and cell phone number so that you can be properly contacted should severe weather be an issue on race day.

5K Run Course

The Sarcoma Stomp 5K participants will run a scenic loop course through rolling hills of the Mammoth Oaks and Lansdowne neighborhoods.

Volunteers and CMPD officers will be stationed throughout the course.

Event Beneficiaries

Funds raised from the Sarcoma Stomp remain LOCAL, directly supporting Atrium Health’s Levine Cancer Institute and Levine Children’s Hospital in advancing sarcoma clinical trials and research projects. By participating, you’ll be improving the lives of local patients while contributing to a GLOBAL effort to tackle this complex and severely underfunded cancer.

Current initiatives include:

A new clinical trial 
Comprehensive sequencing study for synovial sarcoma
Development of a sarcoma-specific blood biopsy technique

How do I become a Fundraiser?

How do I create a Facebook fundraiser?  Why do it?

  • When you create your fundraiser, there will be a pop up at the end asking you if you want to link you fundraiser to Facebook. Click the button and you are done! It will create a replica fundraiser in your Facebook, including message and goal. If you want to edit your Facebook fundraiser, head to your Facebook account and do it there.
  • Fundraisers report getting many more donations to their Sarcoma Stomp fundraiser when linking a Facebook fundraiser to it
  • Donations made to an associated Facebook fundraiser automatically flow into your Run SignUp fundraiser and your tally is automatically updated

Sarcoma Stomp Shirt

The manufacturer describes the shirts as "semi-fitted".

Event shirts are guaranteed for registrations through March 12th. After that date, shirts will be available as supplies last.  We always do our best to accommodate as many participants as possible! However, the earlier you register the better chance of getting a shirt, and in the size you prefer!

Virtual participants need to be registered by March 20th in order to receive their shirt by mail before race day. Anyone registered for the Virtual Stomp after March 20th will be shipped there items after April 5th.

Team Packet Pickup

Teams with 5+ participants can pick up all team shirts and bibs before the race, saving your members from waiting in the registration line on race day.
Deadline: April 1st


Open Tent Area

All teams are welcome to set up a tent in our designated Open Tent Area on race day. Spaces are first-come, first-served, so arrive early to claim your spot!


Reserved Tent Space

Teams with 15+ participants qualify for a reserved tent space at the Stomp. Teams must provide their own tent and table.
Deadline: Wednesday, March 26th


Priority Tent Space

Teams with 15+ participants that raise $2,500+ will receive a prime tent location, with a tent and table provided by us.
Deadline: Wednesday, March 26th

What is a Virtual Stomper?

Want to support sarcoma research funding but can't get to the Sarcoma Stomp? We've got just the thing! A great option for those locals who have a scheduling conflict (or prefer to sleep in on the weekend!) and for the many supporters we have throughout the U.S.!

The price of a Virtual Stomper registration includes a Sarcoma Stomp shirt, race bib, promo item, packaging and shipping. Virtual Stompers will receive their shirts and bibs via U.S. mail, so please make sure you've provided an accurate residential shipping address, INCLUDING any apartment number. VIRTUAL PARTICIPANT SHIRTS WILL BE MAILED IN LATE MARCH. Thank you for your understanding and your patience!

You may start or join a team as a Virtual Stomper! This means that you can create a new Virtual Stomper team in your hometown, or you can register as a Virtual Stomper and be a virtual member of a team that will be in attendance at the Sarcoma Stomp.
