About Toughest 10k Galveston

The Toughest 10K Galveston, the second race in the Texas Bridge Series, offers runners the unique experience of crossing a true engineering marvel - the iconic Galveston Causeway. Starting at the Galveston County Daily News offices, participants head northbound over the historic bridge, loop around at Tiki Island, and return via the same impressive structure. While most of the course features the characteristic flat terrain of southeast Texas, runners face an exciting challenge: conquering the 72-foot tall causeway with its demanding 3.5% grade, both on the way out and back.

FAQ

Race FAQ

What is the time limit?

2 hours (strictly enforced*).

*Bridge races involve special permission and cooperation by local authorities, police, and emergency response, and impact motor vehicle traffic. To continue organizing these races, we must adhere to the time limits set by those agencies. Runners who are far behind may not be allowed back on the Causeway Bridge. The bridge will close at 8:45 AM, and no one will be allowed back on the Causeway from Tiki past this time.

Is there a time limit that I have to be back on the Causeway Bridge?

Yes. 8:45 a.m. If you have not left Tiki Island and are not on the Causeway Bridge by this time, you will not be allowed to complete the race.

Is the event chip timed?

Yes.

What if I forget my chip or bib at home?

If you lose your bib or forget it at home, there will be a $10 charge to reissue a new bib.

The shirt in my packet doesn’t fit, can I exchange it for a different size?

We post deadlines for both bib name and shirt size selection. If you registered by those deadlines, your shirt was ordered accordingly. If there are extras after the race, you are welcome to exchange, but if the race fills up, exchanges are unlikely.
