About Trail Challenge - The Dublin 26
The Dublin Trail Challenge – “The Dublin 26”
The Dublin Trail Challenge is officially returning this fall. Join us from September 7 through October 11, 2026, for the Dublin 26 and challenge yourself to get active while exploring the City of Dublin.
Participants can choose their own path and complete the challenge by walking, hiking, running, or biking. This year, the Trail Challenge is expanding to include a new biking option.
Challenge Options
Walk, Hike, or Run Challenge
Complete a total of 26 miles anywhere within the City of Dublin
Miles can be completed all at once or over multiple days
All miles must be tracked and recorded using the RaceJoy application
Choose from recommended trails, neighborhood parks, or your own favorite routes around the city
Bike Challenge
Complete a total of 65 miles all at once or over multiple days
All miles must be tracked and recorded using the RaceJoy application
Participants should begin their rides in Dublin but are welcome to continue into surrounding cities as part of their mileage
Participants are encouraged to explore the community in their own way. Whether you are discovering a new trail, visiting a local park, or enjoying neighborhood streets and surrounding areas, the Dublin Trail Challenge is designed for all fitness levels and abilities.
How to Participate
Register for the Dublin Trail Challenge at runsignup.com
Download and use the RaceJoy application on your phone to track and record your miles
Complete either:
26 miles walking, hiking, or running, or
65 miles biking
Finish and record all miles by October 11, 2026
All registered participants who successfully complete and record their miles by the deadline will receive a commemorative 2026 Dublin Trail Challenge t-shirt.

If you need assistance registering for the challenge or learning how to use the RaceJoy application, stop by the Shannon Community Center Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and speak with Christina Brekelmans.

Get outside, stay active, and experience Dublin one mile at a time during the 2026 Dublin Trail Challenge.
Manually Log Miles
- Go to Results page.
- Click “Submit Virtual Results”.
- Under “Participant Lookup” look up yourself using your name or email address.
- Click “Log Activities”. Complete the requested information – run or walk, miles completed, and elevation gain.
In upper right corner of same screen click “Load Activity from File”. Upload file from your Garmin, Apple Watch, FitBit, or any device you already use.

Start Point: In the back of parking lot of the Dublin Civic Center Parking Lot/Dublin Library, follow the path leading to the Dublin Library towards the Alamo Canal Trail)

Alamo Creek Trail
Start Point: Alamo Creek Trail, off of Amador Valley Blvd, near the Dougherty Hills Dog Park.
Don Biddle Community Park Loop
Start Point: Horizon Pkwy and Amethyst St

Every registered participant who completes the Dublin 26 by Friday, October 10 will receive a commemorative event t-shirt.
Participants who finish the 26-Mile Challenge or complete their Trail Challenge “Passport” will also be invited to our T-Shirt Pick Up Day at:

In addition to t-shirt distribution, we’ll be holding our Trail Challenge Prize Drawing for those who complete their Passport. Don’t miss the chance to celebrate your accomplishment and take home some extra rewards!
Tracking Your Miles
In order to receive credit for your progress, all participants will need to track their miles manually through runsignup, or with a tracking device of your choice. As a courtesy, all registered participants will receive a RaceJoy link via email to access the Dublin 26 and be recognized as an official participant. Please see the RaceJoy Tab for more information.
If you do not have access to or do not already have a tracking device you prefer, download the free RaceJoy App that can be used on any smart phone.
Trail Challenge "Passports"
The Dublin 26 Trail Challenge will now include Trail Challenge Passports! Visit all recommended routes and add the date you visited to your passport! Once you visit all the routes, submit your passport by email to shulin.madrid@dublin.ca.gov, to enter into the prize drawing! Passports will be available for print soon!
How do I submit via email?
- Visit the all the recommended routes.
- Write the date you visited the recommended routes onto your passport!
- Once all routes have been visited, email selfie(s) on the recommended routes, as well as your completed passport to shulin.madrid@dublin.ca.gov. Make sure all recommended routes have the date visited on your passport!

Using RaceJoy
Download the free RaceJoy App that can be used on any smart phone. All registered participants will receive a RaceJoy link via email to access the official Dublin Trail Challenge route and be recognized as an official participant. To use RaceJoy:
- Download the RaceJoy app and load the official Dublin Trail Challenge trails map onto your smart phone.
- Walk, run or hike the official trails starting at the start line of each section, and finishing at the finish line of each section.
- Turn on the RaceJoy app when starting your walk/run. Turn on the app at the start line, and turn it off as you cross the finish line. Your time will automatically be recorded and submitted as soon as you stop the RaceJoy timer.
- Check the website to see your progress.
