Then finish off on the 3 mile run giving a view from each angle of the lake. This race can be done as an individual or as relay team of 3. And new to the race day events is a 3 mile run that will start just after the triathlon and follow the same course for the run as the triathlon does!

Swim
1/4 Mile Swim
All Athletes are brought down to the "old" beach area on Lakeside Dr. East around 7:40am on Race Day. Once down on the beach area the buoys will be easily visible. The swim course is an easy out and back set up keeping all buoys to the LEFT at all times. Our water temperatures for the last 3 years have been about 70-75 degrees 3-5ft below the surface. WET SUITES are ALLOWED if athletes choose to wear them. Water Safety is provided by Oxford Rescue Squad.

Pandemic Information and Protocols
TRI Mountain Lake Sprint Triathlon
COVID-19 Procedures
The following procedures will ensure the safety and well-being of all volunteers and participants during the COVID-19 pandemic. These procedures will be put in place pending in-person racing has returned and local mass gathering thresholds are not exceeded. DASH Multisport will communicate with all triathletes throughout the months and weeks before race day. These safety precautions are subject to change.
TRI Mountain Lake is a USAT sanctioned race. The USAT Return to Racing Recommendations state the following:
If you sanction your event with USA Triathlon, you receive the benefit of general liability insurance coverage. Specifically, if an athlete brings a claim against you for negligence alleging that they contracted a virus, illness or disease at your event, the insurance coverage provides a legal defense for you in most cases. Race Directors should feel comfortable moving forward with hosting their events knowing this coverage is in place to protect them.
If an athlete claims they contracted the coronavirus at a sanctioned event and tries to file a medical claim using the participant accident policy, their claim will not be covered. USA Triathlon’s participant accident policy is intended for accidents that happened during a sanctioned race and will respond to cover those injuries. It will not cover standard medical issues such as getting sick in some way, viruses and bacterial infections- all of which are excluded from the USA Triathlon policy.
Safety Operations
-One volunteer will be in charge of constantly cleaning tables and chairs and other high touch points throughout the morning.
-Everyone who comes to the venue for race day will be screened by filling out a Covid-19 questionnaire and temperature checked (below 100.4 degrees).
-Anyone with any symptoms or a temperature above 100.4 will be sent home immediately.
-There will be ample amounts of hand sanitizer available for athletes and volunteers
-Sharing equipment, tools or phones will be discouraged
-There will be signs pointing to hand sanitizer and to remind all participants to keep their masks on while setting up and remember to social distance.
-There will be marked 6ft locations for lines to the portable bathroom or event info tables
Packet Pick up
The day before race day packet pick up will be done in a drive by manner. Much like drive up grocery pick up, athletes will be able to pull into a parking spot and let volunteers know their name and their packet will be delivered to them in their car with minimal contact. USAT has allowed a single person to pick up packets for multiple people as long as their ID is matched to their chip number on the day of the race. Limiting the number of people for packet pick up on the day before will help with social distancing.
All packets will be prepackaged and clearly labeled for quick and easy delivery to cars.
Race day packet pick up will be located away from the main area of transition with plenty of space to social distance.
*ALL Participants will receive a disposable mask to wear on race day in their packets*
Transition
-Masks must be worn in the transition are BEFORE the race
-Temperature screenings will happen in a sequence with body marking at the time of entering the transition.
-Bike racks will be placed with additional space between to allow for 6ft of social distancing
-There will be more racks assembled to allow for less bikes on a rack and more room between athlete’s spaces
-All relay teams will have their own chip that will be synced together for timing purposes. No physical contact will be necessary for the next leg of the relay to begin.
Race START
Will do a rolling start. Instead of all women and all men starting in 2 waves, we will have a time trial type start. Each person will be in a line 6ft apart and cross the timing mat one-at-a-time to start the swim.
Race FINISH
-Once an athlete finishes there will be a chute to keep each athlete moving forward.
-New masks will be available for all participants as they come through the finish line.
-All food will be packaged in one bag and given to the athlete as they move forward in the chute. There will be no need for an athlete to touch anything, but his or her own food bag.
-This happens in a wide open field so there will be plenty of room for social distancing
-There will be masks available at the finish line for athletes to put on as soon as they can comfortably breathe again.
Route notes
-All route briefings will be done virtually as we have done in the past. All course maps will be available before the race.
-Our route is always well marked and staffed by our volunteers so no athlete should worry
-Our course can return to full loops again with the lack of construction. This allows for limited athletes passing other athletes out on the course.
Volunteers
-All volunteers will be temperature checked and required to fill out a COVID-19 questionnaire.
-We will limit all volunteers to necessary personnel only.
-Masks are required at all times
Other Notes
-All race day regulations will be based off of the state guidelines for outdoor activities
-If we are limited to certain numbers we will NOT allow spectators
-If we are limited to certain numbers we will NOT do a live awards ceremony
