Tricia Davis 5K for Sinai House

We run, walk, and celebrate in honor of the memory of Tricia Davis who was committed to combating housing insecurity and turned this commitment towards the establishment and longevity of Sinai House. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit Sinai House, a residential social service program in Washington, DC, in its mission to enable families to move from homelessness towards self-sufficiency by providing safe and affordable housing, comprehensive social services and financial support.

The two-part event will be held in person on Mother's Day at Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC, starting at Picnic Area #24 in the Carter Barron parking lot, near the entrance to the Tennis Center.

All registrations will be converted to Virtual Participants if a current or recent Federal Government Shutdown results in our race permit not being issued.

Part One is the 5K that begins with a warm-up at 7:45 am, followed by the 8 am race start.

Part Two is the Rainbow of Bubbles Fun Run that begins at with a warm-up at 8:45 am, followed by the 9 am race start. Walk or run through a rainbow of bubbles. This event is NOT Timed. If you register for the 5K, you can also participate in the Rainbow Fun Run without having to register.

Teams

After you register, you can join a Social Race Team or create your own. Encourage your friends to register for the race and join your team so you can run or walk together for fun.

Children, Strollers & Dogs

Register CHILDREN AGED 12 AND UNDER AT A DISCOUNTED RATE BY CLICKING ON AGE-BASED PRICING during the registration process. If you'd prefer to walk a shorter distance without any hills, register for the Rainbow of Bubbles Fun Run. This event is NOT timed. Strollers and dogs are welcome for both the 5K and the Fun Run, but please stay toward the back of the pack while lining up. For safety reasons, dog leashes must be shorter than 3 feet and no extendible or flexible leashes are permitted.

Free, ample parking is available at the Carter Barron Parking lot located at 4850 Colorado Ave NW, Washington, DC 20011. Please use Colorado Avenue from 16th Street to park near Picnic Area #24 next to the Carter Barron Parking lot, near the entrance to the Tennis Center.

Race Bib & T-Shirt Pick-Up 

• Friday, May 8th from 5:00 - 6:30 pm - the location will be sent with your race registration confirmation email.

• Sunday, May 10th (Race Day) from 7:00 - 7:30 am in the Carter Barron parking lot near Picnic Site #24 in Rock Creek Park, Washington, DC.

Race Day Schedule, RAIN OR SHINE (All times are approximate)

• 7:00-7:30 am Race Bib and T-shirt pick-up, and bag drop near Picnic Area #24, There is NO registration at the race site.

• 7:45 am Warm-ups

• 8:00 - 5K begins (Participants with strollers or dogs, please stay toward the back.) 

• JDBaker Photography will capture your Photo Finish -- Smile!

• 8:45 - Warm-ups for the Rainbow of Bubbles Fun Run

A Social Race Team may have as many members as you want so you encourage your friends to register for the race and virtually walk together for fun.

If you haven't yet registered:

1. Click on the "Social Teams" button on the menu at the top of the page.
2. To join an existing team, click the "Join" button next to the name of the team that you want to join, and you will be prompted to register for the race.
3. To create a new team, click the "Register & Create Social Team".

If you have already registered, follow these steps:

1. Log in, if you have not already done so.
2. Click on the "Profile" button at the top of the page.
3. Click on the "My Registered Races" button at the bottom of the page.
4. Find the entry for "Tricia Davis 5K Walk/Run for Sinai House" and click on "Manage Registration" underneath that race.
5. Click on "Social Teams" in the menu at the top of the page.
6. At the bottom of the page, you will see options to either join an existing team or to "Create new social team".
7. If you create a new team, give your team a name and an optional password. The password is only necessary if you want to limit who can join your team.

If you have already become a Fundraiser and want to edit your page, see the donations that have been made, or send a message to donors or potential donors with a link to your page, follow these steps:

1. Click on the "Top Fundraisers" tab at the top of the race website page.

2. Scroll down until you find the picture for your fundraiser page.

3. Click on the "View" button to go to your fundraising page.

4. If you have not already done so, sign in to RunSignUp.

5. Once you have signed in to RunSignUp and are on your personal fundraiser page, click on "Manage Fundraiser" underneath the fundraiser picture.

6. You will be able to edit your page and view donations made to your fundraiser.

7. To send an e-mail, post to Facebook or send a Tweet, click on the corresponding icon next to the fundraiser picture. A blank message will pop up that will include a link to your fundraiser page.

8. If you want to paste some or all of the text from the personal message on your fundraiser page into the e-mail or post, then first click on "Edit Fundraiser." Scroll down and copy the text you want from your personal message. You can then paste the text into your e-mail or Facebook post.

Sinai House serves eight families at a time, four in residence at Sinai House and four alumni living in the community. There are four fullyfurnished apartments in Sinai House. Programs and professional services are tailored to help each member of the family reach individual goals in finance, education and employment. We need volunteers to help our event run smoothly!

Tasks:

• Hand out T-shirts to registrants as they check in.
• Water Volunteer - Hand out water to racers as you cheer them on their way.
• Course Marshal at the Turn-Around Point - Guide and cheer on racers at the turn-around point.
• Course Marshal along race route at intersection of Ross Drive and Morrow Drive.
• Post Race Food Set-up - Put out bananas, granola, candy and water bottles for racers.
• Post-Race Clean Up - Help us leave the park clean!
