Elite Runners
In support of competition and local elite athletes, Tunnel Hill 10 Miler welcomes athletes who meet the qualifying standards below to request complementary or discounted entry.

Elite runners do not have to reside locally to request elite entry. Tunnel Hill 10 Miler does not offer travel, expenses, or other assistance.
To request Elite entry please email the race director kyle@kyleorso.com with a link to your qualifying results. Other distance events such as half or full marathon results may be submitted provided the entrant's time was a similar pace to the qualifying standards listed above. Elite entries will be reviewed and granted at the sole discretion of the race director.

Raceday Instruction
Below is historical information. 2026 specific raceday details will be provided leading up to this years event.
Wave assignments will be made and communicated to participants approximately one week prior to the race.
Runners should self-seed in the start area. Please allow the faster runners(sub 7 min. / mile pace) to lineup in the front and slower runners /walkers toward the rear. The overall race awards are based on gun time. All age group awards are based on chip time.
Parking
Parking and is located at the Vienna City Park 302 E. Vine St. Vienna, IL 62995. Parking is not available at the start area in Tunnel Hill. Overflow parking is located at the Vienna High School which connects to the Vienna City Park via a short walk on the bike path.
Packet Pickup / Bib Pickup
All runners will need to pick up their bib at the park in Vienna on Saturday morning.

Vienna City Park
For race day packet pickup we work to get everyone thru as quickly as possible but please arrive early to leave yourself time to comfortably get thru packet pickup and onto the bus prior to the departure time.
Bus Loading
The buses will leave Vienna for the start line promptly at 8:15am. The travel time is approx. 20-minute bus ride to the start area. The buses will start boarding approx. 15 minutes before departure time. The buses will depart promptly and will not wait.
Start / Pre-start Area
Participants must ride the bus from Vienna to the start. Participant parking is not available at the start area. The bus will drop off runners on Cover Mill Rd. North of the start line which is indicated by a X in the start area map below. After exiting the bus participants will proceed to the Tunnel Hill trail and then south on the trail .2 miles to the start area. Volunteers and signs will be in place to direct you. A limited number of Porta-Johns will be available at the start area. We recommend taking care of business in Vienna before boarding the bus. A clothing drop will be provided near the start line to drop any outer garments you don't want to carry during the race. The items will be transported back to the finish in Vienna for pickup. This is a self-serve drop and pickup, not a formal gear check. Please don't leave valuables. If you need to run a warmup after getting off the bus, please run north on the trail and do not cross the start line.

Hydration Stops
There will be 3 hydration stops again this year. Due to course logistics the first stop will be moved from where it has been in past years. The first stop will be a self serve water only stop at mile 1.2 at Sandburn Junction. Approximate locations of the hydration stops are mile 1.2, 6.5, & 8.5. Water only at the first stop, Water and Gatorade Endurance at the last 2 stops. Porta-Johns will be available at Shelby Rd. intersection just past the 6.5 mile water stop.

The awards ceremony will start at 11:00am and will take place behind the train depot near the finish area.
You must pickup your awards at the ceremony. If you can not be present, make arrangements for someone to pickup the award on your behalf. Awards will not be mailed.
