About TURKEY TREK (13.1, 10k, 5k & 2k)
This is NOT your run-of-the-mill Turkey Trot. This is the TURKEY TREK! 🦃 Are you up for the challenge?
THREE WILD CHALLENGES. ONE UNFORGETTABLE TREK! 🥛🌾🥧
What makes the Turkey Trek so much more fun than your average Turkey Trot? THE CHALLENGES! Chug some eggnog, hop some hay bales, and fill your pie hole with pumpkin pie! We encourage EVERYONE to get in on the ridiculous holiday fun! Of course, all challenges are optional, but where's the fun in playing it safe? Come ready to laugh, cheer each other on, and make some unforgettable Turkey Trek memories!
THE 10K TURKEY TREK — THE ORIGINAL CHALLENGE!
Start with a steady uphill climb to the summit at mile 3, where the infamous EGGNOG CHUG CHALLENGE awaits! Take the optional challenge to chug 5 oz of eggnog and earn an entry to win a new pair of running shoes!
Catch your breath (if you can!) and soak in the UNMATCHED views from the top of the mesa. Then run the ridge for a mile before winding your way down the east side.
Once you're off the hill, it's time for the HAY BALE HOP CHALLENGE! Navigate the hay bales along the relatively flat straightaway before continuing your clockwise loop back toward the park.
Just one kilometer from the finish, you'll encounter the final test: FILL YOUR PIE HOLE! Enjoy a fresh portion of holiday pumpkin pie before making your final push to the finish line.
Is this a course for setting a personal record? HA! This is a course for BRAGGING RIGHTS! Hills, holiday treats, ridiculous challenges, and a whole lot of fun. Can you conquer the Turkey Trek?
THE 5K — TWO CHALLENGES, HALF THE DISTANCE!
Not quite ready to conquer the full 10K? Our 5K delivers plenty of Turkey Trek fun without the big climb to the summit!
You'll tackle TWO holiday challenges along the way:
HAY BALE HOP CHALLENGE — Get those legs moving!
FILL YOUR PIE HOLE CHALLENGE — Pumpkin pie awaits!
THE 2K — A LITTLE TREK AND A LITTLE PIE!
Looking for a shorter holiday adventure? Our 2K is a great way to join the fun without tackling the bigger distances.
You'll encounter the FILL YOUR PIE HOLE CHALLENGE, where a delicious portion of pumpkin pie adds a sweet twist to your trek!
THE HALF TURKEY — 13.1 MILES OF HOLIDAY GLORY!
For those of you who eat hills for breakfast and wash them down with eggnog, we've got an even BIGGER challenge!
The HALF TURKEY takes on ALL THREE challenges offered along the 10K course, plus additional mileage to bring your adventure to a full 13.1 miles.
Conquer the Half Turkey and you'll earn a commemorative FINISHER MUG to celebrate your accomplishment!
So, what's it going to be? A little turkey, the full trek, or the HALF TURKEY? 🦃

We’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with Sneakers4Funds to provide you with a socially responsible way to donate your gently worn, used or new sneakers and running shoes to a good cause we support! The sneakers will help benefit Growing Home as well as give a hand up, not a handout, to micro-enterprises in 25 developing countries. The athletic shoes will be kept out of landfills where they can take decades to fully decompose. Visit Sneakers4Funds to learn more!
It's super simple! All you need to do is bring your lightly worn athletic shoes and sneakers to the race (either race day or at packet pick up). We collect them and mail them and a donation is made to Growing Home!
Please donate only gently worn, used, and new athletic shoes. These sneakers, trainers, and other athletic shoes will be worn again by people in developing nations, so please make sure there are no holes or soles falling off and that they are in wearable condition. Dress shoes, sandals, brown shoes, flip flops, cleats, etc. and other shoes that are NOT athletic shoes will NOT be accepted.
Please tie your shoes together or put a rubber band around the pair!
