5K Fun Run
Lace up your sneakers and get your purple on! This isn’t just a race—it’s a FUN RUN! Enjoy a scenic jaunt through the residential district, admire the historic homes, and catch those mountain vibes as you head toward the Pulaski Trail before sauntering back to the heart of downtown. Everyone is invited to the party:
~Pro runners looking to leave us in the dust
~Power walkers and casual saunterers
~Stroller-pushing parents
~Pups on leashes (the more the merrier!)
Whether you’re leading the pack or bringing up the rear, it’s the most invigorating way to kick off your day. Plus, every registered runner scores an official commemorative t-shirt and a token for a legendary Huckleberry Breakfast or Lunch at the Brooks Hotel.

Small, wild, and packing a serious punch—there’s nothing quite like a huckleberry! We love these tart-sweet gems any way we can get them, but let’s be real: they’re at their absolute best when baked into a mouthwatering dessert. Think you’ve got the magic touch? It’s time to prove it! Tie up that apron and preheat the oven because the Huckleberry Bake Off is officially on. We’re looking for the next Best Huckleberry Baker, and the stakes are high... Tight Competition: Bring your A-game! Serious Judges: They’ve got the palate of pros! Ultimate Bragging Rights: Wear the crown for a full year!

BAKE-OFF COMPETITION RULES AND INFORMATION
The Huckleberry Bake-Off will be held on Saturday, August 15th
YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER ONLINE! - Registration is limited to the first 25 entrants
The Rules:

Entries are to be delivered between 9:00am and 9:30am on Saturday, August 15th to Samuel’s Park. Judging will be from 10:00am to 12:00pm. The winner will be announced at 12:15pm.

Entry Fee is $10, submitted online with your entry form. All entry fees will be used for prize money.

One Entry per contestant.

Submissions must be home cooked (not store bought).
-
All baked goods must be fully baked and complete.
-
Bakers must use their own dish and decorations.
-
Any leftover items will be the property of the contestants.
-
Baked goods requiring refrigeration will not be accepted.

Please do not bring add-ons to your recipes. For example, no ice cream, dips or accompanying butters or spreads. If something is to be added, it should be a part of the specific dish, not something the judge is expected to “add on” ie. frosting is acceptable as it is prepared on the baked good, while butter is not, as the judge would need to “add” it to the dish.

Contestants must submit an ingredient list with their entry.

Ingredients will only be shared with judges.

To remain anonymous for the fairness of judging, contestant names will not be shared with the judges.
The Scoring System:

Each contestant will be assigned a number for judging. Submissions will be judged on a scale of 1-5, 5 being the highest.

Contestants will be judged on taste, texture, appearance and creativity.

The Contest Committee will tally all of the ballots. The contestant with the highest score will be the winner.

~Explore the Town: Wander the historic streets and soak in the magic.
~Treat Yourself: Grab a towering ice cream cone (huckleberry, obviously!).
~Get a New Look: Stop by the face painting station for some artistic flair.
~The Family Fun Zone: Burn off that sugar with bounce houses, lawn games, and non-stop action!
