Wildwood Shivering Shadows 7K

The City of Wildwood hosts the 7th Annual Shivering Shadows 7K Run/Walk Friday, October, 23, 2026 @ 7 p.m.  

The run/walk happens AT NIGHT and gradually takes us to the dark woods of Zombie Road (Lights are strongly encouraged)!  

• This is an evening of fun with a fabulous participant shirt to die for,  post race refreshments, and awards. 
• The start/finish line:  LaSalle Springs Middle School at 3300 Highway 109 in Wildwood, Missouri 63038. 
• Registration fee:   $40.00 prior to Race Day and $50.00 on Race Day.  
• Awards will be presented to the top three (3) finishers in each age group and the top three (3) overall male and female.

PACKET PICKUP at Wildwood City Hall, 16860 Main Street, Wildwood, 63040: 

• Thursday, October 22 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
• Friday, October 23 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Or, packet pickup will be available at LaSalle Springs Middle School starting at 6 p.m.

Race starts at 7 p.m.

BRING your friends, your courage and LIGHTS!  It’s a dark world out there.  

Costumes are always welcome.

The run/walk will happen AT NIGHT and gradually take participants to the dark woods of Zombie Road. You will start on the asphalt Hamilton Carr Trail which will serve as your warm-up. Participants will then transition to the chat Al Foster Memorial Trail, which will serve to introduce willing partakers to the darkness of the natural surface single track Bluff View Trail. You will be slightly challenged by rocks, roots, and tree limbs, but will break out in the woods on another chat trail, for a short time. Very soon however, you will enter the imaginary enchanted forest of the legendary Zombie Road! The rocks, roots and tree limbs are very different here! They seem to be alive, with Invisible hands that reach out for toes and shoestrings! If you’re good, you will eventually find your way to the asphalt Rock Hollow Trail. While the running/walking might become easier, what lurks around you may interfere! After all, this is the area noted for the renowned "Shadow People".

And bring your family, they will love you for it!

This is an evening of fun!! This race will be a challenge for everyone …. runners and walkers alike. But be forewarned …. walkers are spiritual appetizers!!

Participants may pick up their packets on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or Friday, October 27, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Wildwood City Hall, 16860 Main St. Wildwood, MO 63040; or at the race site between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. (LaSalle Springs Middle School, 3300 Highway 109, Wildwood, MO US 63038)
