About Women's Open Water Swim Camp FALL
Ready to stop merely surviving the swim and start swimming with confidence?
This camp is designed for triathletes and open water swimmers who already have the endurance to cover the distance but want more experience, confidence, and skill in real open water. If you can swim the race distance in a pool but still feel inefficient or uncomfortable once you get into a river, lake or the ocean, this camp is for you.
Over three days, you'll gain repetitive practice in open water while learning the skills that actually make race day easier. We'll cover sighting, pacing, drafting, navigating chop and waves, beach starts, buoy turns, swimming in groups, managing anxiety, and adapting to changing conditions. Every session builds on the last so that by the end of the weekend you'll have completed more quality open water swimming than most athletes do in an entire season.
This camp goes beyond the beach. You'll complete multiple long-distance swims in the Gulf of Mexico and take a field trip to a freshwater venue to experience different types of open water. Transportation to and from the freshwater swim location is included, so all you have to do is show up ready to swim.
This is not a beginner learn-to-swim camp. It is an immersive experience for athletes preparing for longer events such as Ironman Florida, Ironman North Carolina 70.3, Haines City 70.3, and other long-distance races. Participants should already be comfortable swimming continuously in open water for up to one hour. Our goal isn't just to get you across the swim course. It's to help you arrive at T1 feeling calm and ready to bike!
Registration includes all coached swim sessions, classroom instruction, camp swag, transportation for the freshwater swim excursion, and a select number of delicious group meals throughout the weekend.
Lodging is not included, but we have a discounted group rate at the host hotel, the Sheraton Sand Key Resort. LINK
