2026 Nashville Urban Runoff 5K & Water Quality Festival

Join the Tennessee Stormwater Association (TNSA) once again for the Urban Runoff 5k run in Nashville. The run is being held in Shelby Bottoms Park and Greenway and weaves its way past several cool and innovative green stormwater management practices.

Exact t-shirt size and participation medal cannot be guaranteed if registered after July 1.

Early Packet Pick Up Friday, July 31 near the melting Silver Bird at Shelby Park. 12pm-2pm

Race Day Packet Pick Up: 6:30am-7:20am

Refund Policy: No refunds will be issued; you may transfer your registration to someone else if needed.

ALL RUNNERS MUST START NO LATER THAN 7:40AM. 

Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd males & females in the following categories: Overall, Under 10, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-76, 77+. The awards ceremony will take place after the race. 

Award presented to Top Team with the best team spirit. 

Watershed Quality Contest Overview:

In order to promote the implementation of local watershed quality stewardship projects, a portion of the proceeds generated from the Urban Runoff 5K (UR5K) will be awarded back to the community through one watershed quality award of $1000.00. Local Non-Profits will have the opportunity to submit specific stewardship proposals that will be judged by the UR5K Planning Committee.   The committee is seeking projects focused on Pollutant Runoff Reduction Implementation. Contest entries include any proposed project that involves the implementation/installation Best Management Practices (BMPs) that will improve runoff within a specific watershed.  Examples BMPs could include, but not be limited to, rain gardens or other bio-retention basins, tree plantings, downspout disconnection, rain barrels, etc.    

Eligibility: The UR5K Prize can be awarded to any non-profit that submits an application with a signed Implementation Certification Statement that attest the award money will be utilized to implement the project as submitted in the contest entry form.

The Urban Runoff will lead into a pre and post-race, family festival from 6:30am – 9:30 a.m. The Festival celebrates clean water and green infrastructure and includes kids’ activities, hands-on education, and more!
