The Big Run 5k

On June 3rd, We Run Together.

Global Running Day is our holiday; a celebration of the activity we love and the sport that brings our community together. We’re inviting all runners and walkers to join us on June 3rd to mark the occasion, set a goal and cross the finish line.   We encourage you to bring your family, friends, and neighbors. 

We want to see the whole community participate because, seriously, running together rocks.  What you can expect:

• It's on a Wednesday—who couldn't use a mid-week pump-up?
• Finisher medals. Not just any medal. A very cool, make-your-friends-jealous medal (see image below).
• Proceeds benefit the Knox County Parks and Rec Youth Scholarship Program. This program provides financial assistance to Knox County youths that would otherwise not be able to participate in Knox County youth sports program.
• Kona Ice will be at the evening event! All 5k participants will receive a classic cup by presenting their bib. Kona Ice will also be available for purchase for spectators.

Location: The Cove, 11808 S Northshore Dr, Knoxville, TN  37922

Course Description: The course starts at the Cove and runs out and back on the greenway.  We will run past the bridge and the newer section under Northshore Dr to a turnaround point.

•  Untimed 5k (AM) - $25
•  Timed 5k (PM) - $30

Race Day (June 3rd)

• Untimed 5k (AM) - $30
• Timed 5k (PM) - $35

Kona Ice at the Evening 5k! 

• All registered timed 5k participants can receive a classic Kona Ice - on us - after their run! Just present your bib and enjoy your treat. Other sizes or additional will also be available for purchase.

Parking:

There is parking at The Cove as well as overflow parking near the entrance from Northshore Dr on the grassy sections (turn left upon entering). There is also parking on the opposite side of the road where the boat ramp and the baseball fields are located, with a crosswalk providing access to The Cove. 

There is limited parking before the "fishing" bridge as well as some on the other side of the bridge near the "fishing" piers.  Just be aware that the run goes across the entrance into this parking lot and you may be held up until it is safe to exit.  So plan accordingly.

Please be aware that Northshore Dr. is a busy road and arriving to The Cove and parking may require additional time.

There will not be an official awards ceremony at the race. Winners will be emailed their awards on Thursday.

Core Physical Therapy - On Site

Jess Core with Core Physical Therapy will be on-site at the evening run for free injury assessments, manual stretching and all your PT needs!
